Reforest Portugal by One Eyed Robot

This national tragedy is in part the result of mismanaged Eucalyptus and neglected pine monocultures. Native forests have been cleared to make way for these plantations which have increasingly shifted the climate towards the hotter and drier conditions they prefer. To prevent further devastation and reverse the damage, we need serious reform to return the land to a collective, responsible stewardship, encourage and educate land owners on alternatives that strengthen biodiversity with use of native trees and create a plan to reform current laws addressing abandoned and neglected Eucalyptus and Pine monocultures.
